100 Year Longevity is possible with proper environmental and genetic factors. You can definitely affect your environment and you can actually affect your genetics also. A new field of study called Epi-genetics is proving that genes can be turned on and off with certain environmental stimuli. What this means is that you can affect your cells by the lifestyle a person chooses. So if you choose to live to be 100 years old, there are certain things you can do to increase the odds you’ll make it; and here they are:
- Nervous system-the central nervous system consisting of the brain and spinal column controls the other systems of the body. By keeping the brain communicating to the cells of the body (brain-body connection) the body functions at an optimal level increasing the efficiency of the immune system, digestive system, cardio-vascular system, etc. KEEP THIS SYSTEM HEALTHY WITH REGULAR CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS!
- Cardio-vascular system-this system is the other major system that fails most people causing them premature death. The best advice to strengthen this system is regular cardio exercise. Whether it is a treadmill, bicycle, elyptical, swimming, running, tennis, or raquetball- try to get 30 minutes 3-4 times per week. I also recommend weight training on alternate days to strengthen muscles, but also it helps strengthen ligaments, tendons, and bones.
- Digestive system-this system routinely causes a lot of people problems. Raw fruits and vegetables with adequate water each day is the best advice to improve overall digestion. Adding a digestive enzyme, fish oil, multi-vitamin, and other supplements can help strengthen this system as well. The other important thing to remember is to avoid what I call the three whites; white salt, white sugar, and white flour. Also avoid a lot of red meats, processed foods, preservatives, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and any other artificial additives. The key here is to make your overall system as alkaline as possible and avoid things that make your system acidic.
If people will consistently follow this advice they will increase their odds of leading an active lifestyle into old age and decreasing their odds of cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimers. You never know, you might even live to be 100- if you’ve got the right ATTITUDE! Good luck out there.
